Consultation and scan.
Dr. Ortiz checks the bone and gums, takes a scan and explains whether an implant is right for you.

Implant placement.
The implant is placed under local anesthesia. You can ask to pause at any moment.

Healing.
The implant settles into the bone. We check in with you along the way.

Crown.
A crown is fitted on the abutment and matched to your natural teeth.

1. Does getting an implant hurt?
The area is numbed with local anesthesia before we start, and you can ask to pause at any moment. Most people feel pressure rather than pain and are back to their usual routine in a day or two.
2. How long does the whole process take?
Usually 3–6 months from the first visit to the finished crown. Most of that time is healing: you live normally and come in for short check-ins.
3. Can I get an implant if I lost the tooth long ago?
Often, yes. If the bone has shrunk over time, Dr. Ortiz can rebuild it with a bone graft first (from $600). The scan at your consultation shows what you need.
4. Does insurance cover implants?
Many PPO plans cover part of the implant or crown. We verify your individual benefits before your appointment, so you know your share before you decide.
5. What if I'm not a candidate for an implant?
Then we'll show you the alternatives, such as an implant-supported bridge, with prices, and help you choose. No pressure either way.
